A hand with setup?

Updated September 15, 2026

A few clear steps to put your calendar in view. Large Lock Screen calendars, compact Lock Screen widgets and Home Screen widgets are separate surfaces.

Set up your Lock Screen

  1. Open Ultracal and choose a Lock Screen layout.
  2. Connect your calendar, allow Calendar access, and select the calendar to display.
  3. Choose a background and check the preview of your own events.
  4. Follow the in-app setup to preserve a separate Home background, add the Ultracal Refresh Lock Screen shortcut, and run it once.
  5. Check the result on your actual Lock Screen.

The large calendar is part of a wallpaper image. The shortcut creates and applies a fresh image from your selected calendar.

Refresh an existing design

After setup, apply an edited layout with the existing shortcut. You do not need to import the same shortcut again.

Daily refresh is optional. Open Settings → Wallpaper updates in Ultracal for the steps to create personal automations at 09:00 and 18:00 in Apple Shortcuts. iOS requires you to create these automations yourself. A wallpaper keeps its previous content until a successful refresh.

Add a Home Screen widget

  1. Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen.
  2. Choose Edit → Add Widget and search for Ultracal.
  3. Choose the layout and size you want, then tap Add Widget.
  4. Change its appearance by opening that same layout in Ultracal.

Small, medium and large layouts are separate widgets. Copies of the same layout share its saved design. iOS controls placement and refresh timing.

Add a compact Lock Screen widget

Touch and hold your Lock Screen, choose Customize → Lock Screen, then tap the widget area beneath the clock. Find Ultracal and choose an available compact widget. These fit the native iOS slots and are separate from a full calendar wallpaper.

When meetings are missing

Check your selected calendars in Ultracal, Calendar permission in iOS Settings, and whether iPhone Calendar has finished syncing. The free Apple connection includes one selected calendar. Direct Google and multiple calendars require Pro.

Open Ultracal to refresh its data, then run the wallpaper shortcut to refresh a wallpaper. A Google connection also needs a successful Google authorization. If access is blocked, include the displayed error when contacting support; do not send your password.

Subscriptions and restoring Pro

Monthly and yearly plans unlock the same Pro access: direct Google Calendar and multiple selected calendars. Prices and billing periods are shown in your App Store currency before purchase.

Use Restore Purchases on the Pro screen. Manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Deleting Ultracal does not cancel a subscription.

Your information

Calendar data, notes and tasks are processed on your device. Google authorization and Apple purchases communicate with those providers. Read the Privacy Policy for details and deletion instructions.
